What is CoVentured?
CoVentured is the place where Startups and Corporates connect.

CoVentured was launched because we know that it's often difficult for a Startup to know which Corporates are open to a conversation, what they are looking for and who to talk with. And most Corporates realised that an innovation strategy should include engaging the Startup world to gain access to new technology, new ideas or new business models.
Why should my Startup be on CoVentured?
CoVentured is the best way for Startups to connect with Corporates. We know as a Startup it's difficult to know what Corporates are open to a conversation, how and why they want to work with a Startup and who the best person is to contact.

This is why CoVentured exists. We make it easier for you to understand which Corporates you should be talking with and make sure your message is read by someone who has the authority and budget to deal with your Startup.

We also have exclusive opportunities for Startup-Corporate connection on our platform. Opportunities that would not be known to Startups anywhere else.
What ways can I work with a Corporate?

For tips on writing the first message see “What should I write in my message to a Corporate” or see this blog post “What to consider before contacting a Corporate” written by CoVentured CEO. Note, you’ll only be able to use this functionality if your profile is approved.
  2. Applying for a Program: A Program is a call to action for Startups created by a Corporate. Think of it similar to a request for proposal. This “Program” could be for a competition, an accelerator, a business challenge, pitch competition or anything in between, where Corporates want Startups to apply by a deadline.
What is an interest area?

What makes a great profile?
A great profile will have all the key information filled in. This includes:
  • A clear “About us” section that succinctly explains the problem you solve.
  • High level financial information so that Corporates can understand the traction of your business.
  • Logos and a centre image. These make your profile look good and memorable for anyone who views it.
  • Team. It’s important to highlight who the founders are the role each plays in the business.
  • Here’s an example of what we think makes a great profile.
What should I write in my message to a Corporate?
When sending a message to a Corporate it’s important to remember these key things:
  • Make it about them: Corporates are almost solely concerned about their business priorities. So make sure you make it about how you can help them and not how they can help you. Your message should highlight how your Startup can help them achieve their business goals.
  • Short and sweet: Keep the message short but outline exactly what you can do for the Corporate.
  • Actionable: Highlight what you’d like the next steps to be and why you’re contacting the Corporate.
  • Here’s a blog post where you can find a template and tips on how to write a great first message.
Why can I only send 5 messages?
We want Startups to make meaningful connections on CoVentured. Which is why Startups can only send 5 messages at a time to a Corporate.

However, when you receive a reply from a Corporate, this gives you back the ability to send another message.
What Startups can be on CoVentured?
All Startups! No matter what industry are in or what stage you’re at - if you can benefit from a Corporate connection you should be on CoVentured.

The only Startups who are not best suited for CoVentured are those who are consultancies or service based. This is because, the Corporates on our platform are looking for Startups that can support their innovation objectives in these three ways (not exhaustive but good guidance.)

Core Business: The Startup has capabilities to improve operations, costs or digital technologies within the core business in innovative new ways which they may not be aware of, or cannot easily be identified via a Google search.
R&D: Startups that help the Corporate accelerate new technology development or product innovation.
Moonshot innovation: Startups that help the Corporate gain a strategic presence in disruptive new technology.

Most Corporates realise that an innovation strategy should include engaging the Startup world to gain access to new technology, new ideas or new business models. What information do I need to input to get it to 80% profile strength?
Startup profiles on CoVentured contains all of the key information a Corporates needs to know. The more information you have the higher the chances that Corporates will take the time to look at your profile. The first thing corporates do when they receive a message is check out that Startups profile. It is important that when they look at the Startup profile there is a reasonable amount of detail. This is why Startups cannot message a corporate until they are approved (and have a detailed profile)

For a Corporate to understand the best way to collaborate with the Startup, financial information is important. This information enables the Corporate to know what stage your company is at.
